Dani-Din (Hebrew: דני-דין), one of Israel's most famous children's book characters, is a mischievous child who accidently gains the power of invisibility. Later volumes of the books saw Dani-Din being enlisted by Israel's military to take part in many operations against enemies (mostly of ridiculed Arab origins) that more than once had resulted in violence and death.
This alternative cover-art for the series' bestselling volume criticizes the author's gradual incorporation of nationalistic, militaristic and sometimes violent themes by depicting a post-traumatic Dani-Din.
